GAME turns to internet for brand experience

Date: 26/04/2010

A lot of organisations are starting to realise the true benefits of brand experiences and one computer retailer is a particular proponent of the concept, turning to the online world, it has been reported.

GAME spoke to MCV about its ideas for an internet space that can deliver the organisation's aims and desires to customers, accompanying its units across the country.

Interim chief executive officer Christopher Bell said that the company strongly believes in its stores as they will have a "very significant" role in PC and video gaming in terms of retailing, as it will remain dominated by boxed products for years to come.

He continued: "To give our customers a seamless brand experience we are introducing a new 'Websphere' ecommerce platform over the next two years, linking all of our territories and stores to provide a universal online portal and fully-connected infrastructure."

GAME has a strong hold on the market in the UK, also operating Gamestation as a secondary venture that specialises in second-hand titles.
