The importance of team building corporate events in the office has been highlighted by a writer who is keen to promote the role of fun in an otherwise boring workplace.
Carla Rieger, a commentator for 4Hoteliers, explained that there is a number of reasons why a business is unable to organise more light-hearted team building corporate events within the office, such as serious work, sombre employees, tough management or a lack of trust in sticking to real tasks at hand.
Yet Ms Rieger fully endorses the need for fun between staff at a business, explaining that it can enhance communication, help improve performance through a healthy and energising environment and increase creative thinking.
Stephen Dudar, an expert in motivation, explains that an ambush with foam dart-firing guns on fatigued staff, for example, can improve fun and restore energy levels in a matter of seconds.
He said of the scheme: "This kind of thing turned around how we delivered services to the schools under my care as well as the morale of my entire department."
As a result, businesses may be more inclined to organise a team building conference to get a general idea of what will improve happiness in the office.
Healthiness in the working environment has recently been promoted by Rupert Emson, the co-founder of Vero Screening, a recruitment firm in Hove, who leads bike rides and provides free fruit to workers to encourage a better attendance rate and provide team building opportunities.
