Psychologists at the University of Central Florida have been working on a study in order to evaluate the efficacy of corporate team building.
They are aware that businesses are less likely to take people away from the job for team building activities unless they can see evidence that the skills learnt are being applied in working life.
Eduardo Salas, organisational psychologist working on the study, gives assurances that the data they have consolidated proves that training produces positive results.
He said: "Because of the push for results, we are getting better at collecting the data and are making a better case for cause and effect."
An emphasis has been given to human interaction with regard to the study as well as the skills which are associated with taking part in the activities.
More than 56,000 students attend the University of Central Florida, which is the second biggest university in America.
