The events industry is fighting back against the recession, boosted by the increase in interest and providers at a conference in London this month.
At the 26th International Confex at Earls Court, it was found that visitor numbers had risen by five per cent on the previous year, showing the growing interest in the benefits of team building events and corporate events in enhancing a business' standing in the market.
Event director Duncan Reid said the last three years had brought about double-digit year-on-year growth, with this year's growth showing very promising development of Confex given the current climate and lack of faith in the economy.
He continued: "In the months leading up to Confex, there has been a climate of fear paralysing the industry, but a significant amount of business has been conducted at the show and I can see a real confidence returning to the market."
Earls Court itself continues to be a popular venue with large companies hosting corporate hospitality events and other meetings, with the London Boat Show and British Motor Show being hosted at the venue, along with Madonna, Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden.
