Businesses need to focus on motivating employees and not simple financial issues, as strong teams can help companies recover, it is said.
Erica Iacono, writing for PRWeek, explained that many banks are enduring tough financial times, yet they should not take their eyes away from the really important assets to the company: employees.
She noted that many will have been through an "extremely difficult" time over the past several months, enduring unfavourable media reports and layoffs as well as payment uncertainty, which can impact on morale and performance.
The expert also added that a friend of hers is working for such a company, affecting her to the point where she is "not exactly what I'd call a brand ambassador".
Highlighting the need for transparency, Ms Iacomo continued: "Employees should be armed with appropriate messages about the company's financial health, future plans and any significant management or structural changes. After all, one of the ways to rebuild reputation is from the inside out."
Earlier this month, the Employee Benefits and Simplyhealth Healthcare Research 2009 study found that smaller firms are more willing to provide employee benefits as a way of enhancing their business.
