In a move to highlight the importance of reward and recognition in the workplace, a major DIY company has implemented a programme in order to help in motivating employees.
B&Q has announced that it is to implement a recognition scheme revolving around a corporate gift card, where employees can nominate one another for being good in the workplace, in turn encouraging a strong team building environment, according to Employee Benefits.
Values between £10 and £50 will then be loaded onto a person's card at the end of the month, with excellent conduct in customer service, store support and product availability scoring high marks with management.
Commenting on the recognition scheme, employee engagement adviser at the organisation Leon Foster-Hill said: "We feel it is right that we should recognise when employees do something a little bit special or go out of their way to deliver a really great service."
B&Q currently operates in the UK, Republic of Ireland and China.
