Employee motivation will 'help them blossom'

Giving employees respect and trust will lead to better performance and communication in the workplace, according to an employer.

Dawn Hodes, the founder and co-owner of high-end dessert manufacturer Delices de Dawn, told Canada.com that her so-called "soft spot" for her staff has led them to become a much more dynamic unit, encouraging greater team building skills through simply being nice to them.

She continued: "We believe in our people and they blossom. It's like a family. There's strong loyalty. They work with the same heart you do. There's love going into the product, and that's being shared."

Ms Hodes added that her desire to do the job is galvanised by her need to motivate staff while keeping customers happy, which is delivered through the improved performance of workers who feel more comfortable in the factory environment.

Business Link, in its quest to dispense practical advice for business, stated that staff incentives are a great way to enhance productivity and communication in the workplace.
