Employers who want to achieve better employee motivation in times of financial hardship should help their staff manage their money with a new interactive programme.
Launched by Legal & General, as part of its workplace saving platform WorkSave, the programmes have been developed to help employees understand their finances.
The scheme features the fictional Cash family in two true-to-life scenarios, which employees can view and then make decisions in challenges.
Helen Buchanan, distribution director of workplace savings at Legal and General, said: "This is a great way to boost interest so that employees have more reasons to log on regularly to their workplace benefits website.
"Employees are alerted to the modules by email as they are released. Our Cash family challenge ensures regular contact with employees and, we hope, stimulates them to take a look at their own savings on site."
During the recession, money worries for employees have been a concern for employers looking to increase staff morale.
Other advice includes making sure workers are aware of pension entitlements, as a recent survey by Aon Hewitt showed that staff would rather have better pension contributions than better pay.
