Visualising a peaceful state can boost employee motivation by eliminating stress in the workplace, an expert has said.
Terri Bodell, the stress doctor, has said that staff who visualise themselves in a peaceful situation can ease their stress, as their body will follow their mind.
Ms Bodell's comments come after research from mental health charity Mind showed that one in five people believe that if they highlighted their stress levels in the workplace, they would be first choice when it comes to redundancies.
"[Visualisation] directly targets the chemical source of stress - your brain and emotions - so that you feel calmer and ready to focus on finding a solution to the problem.
"Think of your own peaceful picture and fill your mind with it whenever you are feeling the effects of stress, and this can eventually calm you down."
Speaking about the results of Mind's study, Paul Farmer, chief executive of the charity, called negativity around stress "unacceptable".
