Employers looking to increase their workforce or enhance staff performance should consider upgrading their rewards packages.
According to Matt Duffy, partnerships manager at Lorica, the increasing amount of job availability now means that prospective staff are not just looking for the right salary, but incentives and recognition as well.
"[Employers] need to communicate their benefits more effectively, so if they already have a generous benefits package then they need to communicate the total reward when they are making an offer to a candidate," he said.
"We also have had a number of clients come to us who have found that their benefits package isn't competitive and they are saying, 'What more can we do to enhance our benefits package to help us attract this key talent that's going to help drive us out of the back end of the recession?'" he added.
Mr Duffy's comments follow research from Lumesse, which showed that UK workers have the second least job satisfaction in 14 worldwide countries surveyed, figures that could be boosted with the right staff incentives and recognition.
