Employee motivation at John Lewis is likely to be high given the news that it has taken a box at London's O2 arena so that staff can attend concerts and events.
The lucky members of staff will be chosen by random ballot and around 15 – 20 staff will attend each event, regardless of how long they have served at the company, Employee Benefits reports.
Jon White, manager for leisure benefits at John Lewis, told the news provider: "It is something we were close to doing when the O2 first opened. What stopped us was scale, the size of investment, plus the fact nobody knew it was going to be the world’s most popular venue."
Last month, Tesco also boosted staff morale by announcing a minimum 2.5 per cent pay rise for its staff.
The supermarket giant said that it will offer a 2.7 per cent pay increase to 233,000 customer assistants, who make up two-thirds of its in-store staff.
