Employee motivation will be the focus for many in February next year, as it has been designated as Motivation Month.
Committing a month of the year to this very important part of any organisation, which can encompass anything from team building events and morale boosting sessions to offering employee benefits, will bring organisations' attention to it.
A number of events will be held with motivation at their core and an emphasis on what corporate events can do with regard to the subject for businesses and the economy.
It will be run as a supporting initiative alongside the winder Britain for Events campaign and serve as a precursor to International Confex which is due to take place in March.
London is expected to be a top destination for corporate events next year, as it will be home to the Olympic Games.
Motivation Month will provide the perfect opportunity for business and event industry professionals to share, discuss and develop their skills and knowledge base.
It is hoped that post 2012 there will be a lasting legacy for London, with delegates of the games bringing clients back for incentive events in the future.
A variety of event providers have already come onboard, including the Barbican, Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel and Spa, British Outback Adventures & Events, Twickenham Experience and ExCeL London.
Each will take its own approach to marking the occasion with a whole host of different opportunities to get involved.
These will range from industry seminars, networking sessions, free webinars and round table debates to learning lunches and top tips to motivate staff.
Rochelle Long, editor of M&IT, who are supporting Motivation Month, said: "Given the current difficult economic climate, it's more important than ever to recognise the real impact motivation and incentive programmes can have on businesses, staff morale and the bottom line."
