Encourage staff to get outside on their lunch breaks and enjoy the fresh air – as it could boost employee motivation, according to an expert.
Hermie Hogg, a health and wellbeing consultant and founder of Hermieopathy, has said that getting fresh air can also boost staff performance.
Research from Subway has shown that workers are under increasing pressure and are changing their lunching habits as a result.
It revealed that 2.9 million workers start lunch before 11am, while almost ten million are forced to take lunch after 3pm.
Ms Hogg said that lunch breaks make an "enormous difference".
"The main thing really is the fresh air. People have got to have fresh air, otherwise they are not going to perform as well as they could do.
"The main thing really is to be in the fresh air. It doesn't have to be sunny, because the light rays still go through your body, even though the sun is not out."
