Eco-friendly conference centre to upgrade services

Date: 27/07/2009

Sheepdrove Eco Conference Centre in Berkshire is looking to extend its offerings to the business environment by submitting a claim for planning permission.

The praise-winning centre, which picked up the Green Award at last year's Event Awards, is aiming to expand its facilities by creating 38 bedrooms for future attendees.

It could have its new idea fully realised by next year.

Russell Downing, the director of operations at Sheepdrove, said that a lack of accommodation has always held the centre back from its full potential to satisfy the needs of clients wanting to host such things as team building conferences.

He continued: "The creation of these bedrooms will allow us to meet the needs of all potential clients, whilst removing one more potentially negative impact on the environment."

The sustainable and eco-friendly location, Sheepdrove believes, can create a "welcoming atmosphere that inspires fresh thinking" and "motivates delegates" while offering all of them the chance to try organic and seasonal produce made at the location's organic farm.
