Corporate events management will be strong in 2011

A new study delving into the future of the corporate events management sector has shown that 2011 is expected to be a good year for the industry.

According to a survey conducted by Unique Venues of London (UVL) and The Westminster Collection, many London venues expect corporate conferences and corporate team building events to be a boon for business next year.

More than 100 events management firms in the capital were quizzed by the two firms and they found that despite the recent economic downturn, more than half claimed delegate numbers remained steady.

UVL chairman Lisa Hatswell said: "While it is undeniable that the recent recession has seen some venues struggle in the marketplace, this survey does highlight the confidence in the corporate market moving forwards and the fundamental role of Visit London et al."

She said that increased funding would be a vital aspect of the industry's recovery moving forward.

Corporate events expert Al Lock recently told the Bangkok Post that the industry can help boost cross-functional understanding within organisations.
