Corporate event management is worth £18.8 billion to the UK economy, according to new research.
Figures from Eventia's 2010 UK Events Market Trends Survey also showed that around 94 million people attended corporate conferences in 2009.
Eventia's survey was based on data from 403 corporate event venues from around the UK.
The company found there was an average of 379 events conducted at each venue in the past year.
Moreover, the firm noted that the majority of corporate conferences venue holders were planning on expanding their business offering in the coming year.
Eventia claimed that 65 per cent were set to invest in their properties and nine per cent of operators are planning on spending in excess of £1 million.
Recenlty, comedy chain Jongleurs claimed that corporate events management had helped to save UK comedy and will allow the firm to push ahead with its £2 million expansion plans.
