Why not use corporate conferences as a way to communicate to your staff about embarking on a healthier lifestyle.
According to Dr Peter Mace, assistant medical director of Bupa, employers should be doing more to encourage their staff to adopt a healthier attitude.
This could save bosses almost £3 billion per year, Bupa claimed – so what better incentive could there be to raise the issue at your upcoming corporate conferences.
"Employers could do quite a lot," Dr Mace told those thinking about corporate event management.
He suggested making changes in the canteen, or providing fruit within workplaces.
"They can encourage stop smoking groups within the workplace and they could emphasise the importance of not drinking too much, particularly because that is going to have an effect on productivity within the workplace and also on the possibility of promotion," he pointed out.
Using corporate conferences to encourage better diet could also boost employee motivation, as research last week from CMI said that 45 per cent of employers think that morale has dropped – so show your staff you care by offering them healthy eating advice.
