London is bound to be the place to be next year as the Olympic Games brings the spotlight to the UK's capital city.
Corporate event management is poised to make the most of the event and Unique Venues London (UVL) has published a list of activities for delegates to take part in when they are not at conference venues.
UVL represents 73 venues in London, helping to market them for corporate conferences, parties and events, as well as other occasions, such as weddings or family parties.
Some of the most iconic and well loved venues in the city come under the UVL banner from the London Dungeon to the Science Museum and Somerset House to St Paul's Cathedral.
Lisa Hatswell, General Manager of UVL, said: "With many UVL venues hosting Olympic Games sponsors, sporting events, country houses or hospitality in their diverse event spaces, it’s fantastic that so many of our members are also able to offer unique experiences, unavailable anywhere else."
It offers an opportunity for companies to supply their clients with a completely different experience while visiting London in 2012.
Specifically recommended for corporate groups coming over from America or those with a particular interest in history is a demonstration of the glass armonica in Benjamin Franklin's house.
A private tour of the Dinosaur Gallery at the National History Museum followed by breakfast at the venue is likely to impress a wide range of delegates.
Intentionally tied into the idea of the Olympic Games, the Royal College of Physicians has an exhibition into human anatomy the history of its study and a specific emphasis on its performance through sport.
This experience is ideal for anyone in town with the express purpose of going to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Another one great for Olympic delegates is an exploration of the relationship between sport and design at the Design Museum.
Several venues are offering behind the scenes tours and glimpses of historic buildings at times when they are free from the public and offering one off experiences which are bound to impress those flocking to London on business next year.
Ms Hatswell said: "This illustrates how diverse UVL can be, not only during the Olympic period itself but also beyond 2012, in creating engaging experiences for business and leisure visitors to the city."
