Corporate event management: The Eventice to find next big name in industry

Date: 06/01/2012

An innovative approach to finding the best talent in the world of corporate event management is being undertaken for its second year.

The Eventice is a competition which invites those currently studying at universities to submit themselves for the chance to win a foot in the door for a career in the corporate events industry.

Having been a success last year when Mairead Ball impressed the judges in the Apprentice-style competition, the initiative is being repeated again in association with Event magazine.

As the deadline for entries closed today, the videos submitted by some of the candidates are appearing on the magazine's websites.

The final year event management students had to answer five questions to do with their motivation for wanting a career in the industry and their experience of truly great events.

Those who make it through to the final will be presented with a series of challenges at Confex between the 6th and 8th March with a job in event management at stake.

The Eventice is based on the BBC's The Apprentice in which Alan Sugar puts a number of entrepreneurs through a selection of tasks in order to choose the one he thinks he could work with.ADNFCR-2060-ID-801257810-ADNFCR
