Corporate event management: The Corporate Games to be held in Abu Dhabi
Date: 27/01/2012
The Corporate Games will probably strike more of a chord with businesses in the UK this year than any other due to the fact that London is hosting the Olympic Games.
In terms of corporate event management it is on a big scale, but it is a great way to bring employees together in a format they recognise.
On top of that it is also a great way to harness the competitive nature of some staff in an appropriate manner.
Not every company will be able to travel to Abu Dhabi to take part, but for those who do the idea of companies not countries competing will help to give them a sense of pride.
For those companies keeping their feet firmly in the UK, then smaller corporate events based around sport have never been more popular.
Organising an event with other local companies or even Olympics inspired competition between members of the business is an effective way to boost employee motivation.
Linking corporate events to those which are going on a national scale is good for getting people involved and making them feel part of something.
Fanny Marcout, chief executive of the Corporate Games, told the National: "We always ask when entering people their level [of expertise] because when we do the scheduling we try to make sure they are well balanced, so everyone has fun."
It is important that events are adapted to suit all those taking part and nobody overexerts themselves. There is a fine line between competition and over doing it.
The Olympic Games is going to present an opportunity for businesses to host some impressive corporate events in London this summer.
Special VIP facilities and packages have been put on sale and some companies will use it to attract clients to the country.
For those not actually attending the event itself, there are other ways in which to involve clients and staff alike in the excitement of the Games.
