Put corporate conferences to good use and discuss how you want your online presence to function.
According to Mike Seddon, founder of KKSmarts.com, businesses need to understand why they have a website and who their audience is, in order to make the most of their online brand.
He acknowledged that it's tricky for businesses to work out what to do on the website, which is where corporate conferences could be useful – presenting the opportunity for a discussion about how online can work for the company.
"Some businesses decide that the website is going to be the vehicle by which they sell their services, some businesses will decide that it's not where they're going to sell from but it's where they're going to engage with their customers and bring them in so they can sell from the front," Mr Evans said.
He also advised businesses to remember who their website is aimed at.
"They don't take a step back and say 'my customer, who is it? Where are they going to be and where would they normally expect to find me?'" he added.
