Interim management staff could be useful during periods of long-term absence, so why not discuss how this could work for your business at corporate conferences.
Tara Daynes, HR and training consultant, has said that increasing numbers of companies are realising the benefits of having a "flexible skilled resource".
"Interim managers are typically available at short notice, self-sufficient and able to hit the ground running, so there is less of a time and money investment in initial training or performance monitoring.
"So, they can be particularly valuable for periods of change and development, such as setting up new departments or functions, creating and implementing new policies and procedures, or handling temporary crisis situations," she said.
Corporate conferences are not only a great way of discussing how interim management staff could work in your business, but once you have them in place, they could speak about how they see their role.
Recently research from Aviva UK Health revealed that bosses worry about the impact on employee motivation when a member of staff takes long-term absence.
