Corporate event management: Go vintage for your next company event

Date: 12/10/2011

If you are looking for something different for corporate conferences or events then there is nothing more iconic than a London Routemaster double decker bus.

A couple from Cumbria have transformed a genuine old London bus into an unusual exhibition space complete with private office and display space, reports News & Star.

The practical implications of a corporate event venue also being a functioning mode of transport means that this quirky and memorable alternative to a stuffy office could form part of a longer conference day.

Being specifically converted with corporate functions in mind, all the necessary facilities are provided and the bus could prove popular with companies from abroad, cashing in on the nostalgia and image of the London red bus.

Originally 2,800 Routemaster buses were made between 1956 and 1968 to provide transport for the public in London and weren't fully withdrawn until 2005.

Alistair Grey of Workington Transport Heritage Trust said: "It has already completed a week-long booking at Offshore Europe, a major oil industry exhibition in Aberdeen."
