A campaign by the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) has seen 100 more venues recognise the importance of free WiFi at corporate event venues.
Southport Conferences is the latest company to offer free WiFi to delegates at all eight of its premises which are used for corporate events.
The Conference Cloud campaign urges companies to provide WiFi as standard since being able to connect to the internet is now a fundamental requirement for effective business anywhere.
Another 41 venues under the corporate event management of Conference Centres of Excellence have also undertaken to participate in the campaign.
Formed in 1981, the ABPCO aims to maintain quality standards throughout the event industry and has nearly 150 members.
Mike Booth, Sefton Council’s cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “It seems ludicrous in today’s technological and information hungry age that Wi-Fi is not provided free of charge at all business venues."
