Corporate event management: Flagship event venue left without water

Date: 05/10/2011

Corporate event management professionals at the flagship O2 in London are having a bit of a nightmare as the venue has been put out of action by a burst water pipe.

Since the incident, which occurred on Sunday, the venue has been closed and comedian Lee Evans has had to postpone his show until next Monday.

Left without water, the venue called in engineers to try and fix the problem, hoping it will be resolved by the time Rihanna is due to perform.

The O2 was formerly the Millennium Dome and has been used as a venue ever since offering the public the chance to see live acts, but also as a different and inspiring corporate space for events and conferences.

Those intending to attend Evans' show were told via email, Twitter, Facebook and the O2 website that the show had been postponed.

The O2 Twitter feed said: "We're sorry - tonight's Lee Evans show isn't able to go ahead as scheduled due to a water main issue at the venue. Details on theo2.co.uk."
