Corporate event management: Excel breaks visitor numbers record

Date: 02/08/2012

As corporate event venues go, Excel London is up there, but until July 29th it had not achieved 65,000 visitors in one day.

But thanks to it hosting a number of Olympic sporting events, it has broken its own record as people flocked in to see table tennis and fencing events, reports Event magazine.

The exhibition centre will host events in both the Olympics and Paralympics and is to be the only venue to host sports every single day of the event.

Kevin Murphy, chief executive of Excel said: "Our events are running at near-capacity on every sport and feedback is overwhelmingly positive."

The venue is well versed in corporate event management as it has held a wide variety of exhibitions and corporate conferences over the years.

Another record breaking fact associated with the venue is that 30 per cent more visitors are using the Docklands Light Railway to make their way to Excel London than ever before.ADNFCR-2060-ID-801421033-ADNFCR
