Corporate conferences can boost staff morale and improve the productivity of a business, an expert has said.
According to Phil McCabe, a spokesman for the Forum of Private Businesses, bosses shouldn't underestimate the significance of corporate conferences and corporate team building activities to bring staff and management together.
Mr McCabe noted that some businesses put a "great emphasis" on corporate conferences and choose to hold regular events for staff, for example, on a quarterly basis.
"I think the emphasis behind that is proper good communication to staff about the business and where it is going," he observed.
"For small businesses this is [especially] important because of how important each individual staff member is to the future of that business as opposed to large businesses where they tend to get lost in the structure of the company."
Ruth Spellman, chief executive of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), also recently urged businesses to use corporate conferences to communicate with staff, as they boost morale.
