Data security is an increasingly hot topic, according to an expert, so use corporate event management to discuss how your business can make sure information is kept secure.
Dr Akif Khan, director of products and services for CyberSource, pointed out that companies face penalties and damage to their brand if their data is breached.
He said that an upcoming report by CyberSource says that the main reason online retailers invest in payment security is to protect their brand or revenues, rather than avoiding bank fines.
"Customer perception and reputation is critical to the success of a business, so it is absolutely imperative that online retailers take steps to secure their customers' information," Dr Khan said.
So how can you use corporate conferences to better protect your data?
Well, according to Dr Khan, businesses should be discussing the security risks of multi-channel retailing, such as mobile phones.
"In the early stages of establishing a new payment channel, merchants will still be finding their feet in terms of understanding the associated data security risks," he explained.
