The number of corporate conferences being held in the UK has doubled this year, while social corporate events have seen a reduction in number.
That is according to Venue Reservations, which has seen 62 per cent of its enquiries being for business summits and meetings, as opposed to 29 per cent last year.
Charles Beer, managing director of the Crown Group, which owns Venue Reservations, said: "We are seeing more enquiries for combined events, where a company holds a regular business function and followed by a social element afterwards."
Another trend to have emerged from the analysis is that there is a greater demand for standing receptions as opposed to the more formal seated equivalent.
The events industry is an area that sees much change from one year to the next with corporate party planning going through different trends on a regular basis.
It is also an area where those involved are always looking for new and innovative ways to impress clients and contacts.
