Corporate conferences often lacking creativity
Date: 17/08/2010
Corporate conferences in the UK are often lacking in creativity and firms need to do more to engage employees during meetings and launch events.
According to one employee motivation expert, businesses often lose sight of the fact that staff need to be stimulated.
Angela Whitlock, author of Walk on the Grass, told Management Today that stimulating creativity is something every firm should be involved in - whether that is through sales incentive programmes or innovative corporate events management.
She told the news provider that "by the age of 25, 98 per cent of our creativity has gone", which is why she has helped hotel chain Crowne Plaza to create a series of turfed corporate conferences venues.
Ms Whitlock claims that having grass between their toes during a meeting "frees [employees] of societal barriers that restrict creativity".
A new eco-friendly corporate conferences venue is being built in Brockholes, construction of which is being funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency.
