The Olympic Games is set to breathe life into London and could result in the city capitalising on increased interest in corporate events management and team building conferences, it is believed.
Sally Chatterjee, the interim chief executive officer of Visit London, stated that while the visitor perspective traditionally focuses on the future sporting events in the area, many others want to take advantage of the hype surrounding the host city.
She continued: "For instance, next summer the new St Martin's Courtyard development in Covent Garden opens to provide a buzzy, eclectic feel in keeping with its surrounding area, and, in 2011, the Westfield Stratford site throws opens the doors hoping to replicate the success of the White City development in west London."
And with the upgrade works planned for certain areas of the underground network - particularly the East London line - as well as changes in the shopping, leisure and eating offerings, the capital may become the next perfect location for live brand experiences and other events.
This month, Lonely Planet included London on a list of the ten best value destinations in the world to visit in the next 12 months, further underlining the value for money to be had by people hosting team building conferences.
