The Aagrah restaurant group, which is based in West Yorkshire, is to open its most ambitious project in the form of a £4 million conference and banqueting centre, it has been reported.
Set on a 1.6-acre site between Leeds and Bradford, the Thornbury-based Midpoint Suite at Gallagher Leisure Park will create 50 jobs and will be able to host up to 275 diners in its restaurant if they are taking part in a corporate event or team building exercise.
However, the main section of the building will be able to host up to 700 people in its theatre-style conference centre, also allowing for 450 seated dinner guests.
Commenting on the development, managing director of the group Mohammed Aslam said: "It really will offer something new and unique, we've received many advance bookings ahead of the opening and we're looking forward to hosting the events."
Mohammed Aslam was awarded the international chef of the year award in 1996, with Mohammed Sabir, the founder and chairman of the group, receiving the MBE in the New Year's Honours List of 2006 for fundraising activities.
