New redevelopment plans have been announced by Lancashire County Cricket Club (CCC) for its Old Trafford ground following the securing of £10 million in funding, it has been reported.
The money will be spent creating the first phase of a proposed £200 million regeneration scheme which will make way for 2,500 permanent spectator seats, a new scoreboard and a 1,000-seat centre for corporate events such as team building and corporate hospitality.
Finance and operations manager at the club Lee Morgan said the driving force behind the major redevelopment plans is to secure a future for international cricket in the north-west.
He added that "the conference and events element of our day-to-day operation is an important part of our successful business strategy and is core to funding of the club's cricketing activities."
Companies looking to host a function with an events organiser may be interested to know that in the summer, the Old Trafford ground will host a number of major events including England vs Australia in two Twenty20 matches.
