During the festive season, a business must do its best to set aside a budget for a Christmas party in an effort to show incentives and recognition despite the effects of the recession, it is said.
According to a recent study by Outsourced Events, it was found that having a team building corporate event to celebrate the festive season may be the ticket for improving staff morale, productivity and performance.
Director of the organisation Alexandra Sibley explained that it simply boils down to tradition and should always be approached by managers with a level of open willing, as otherwise they will be faced with a level of "scorn" from employees who have their wishes spurned.
The expert continued: "Christmas events do not have to be expensive, there are good ways to tighten the purse strings and still do the right thing for employees at Christmas."
Earlier this week, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development explained to People Management Magazine that almost a quarter of businesses would be holding an office party on a bigger scale than 2008.
