Chester to get redevelopment plans for team building corporate events

Date: 09/11/2009

The city of Chester is continuing to launch a number of investments into public facilities in order to improve the area's prospects in the eyes of corporate events management, it has been reported.

According to the Chester Chronicle, the town hall is the latest target of funding, with £2 million being injected to "breathe fresh life" into the historic building.

It will add to the £30 million currently being invested in a state-of-the-art conference centre aimed at impressing those holding team building corporate events in the area, with the consultants soon being chosen to undertake the work in nearby Little Roodee.

Councillor Richard Short, an executive member for culture and recreation, said: "We cannot undo years of stagnation at a stroke but we are certainly attempting to give Chester a firm foundation for progress when the financial climate finally improves."

It follows news that Bristol City FC has been successful in its first planning stage for a new stadium in the city, which will also include facilities for team building conferences.
