In order to get the best out of the national junior hockey team, governing body Hockey Canada has dispatched them to an army base to develop their bonding in a team building exercise.
The team have headed out to practice military drills and exercises in order to get them together on a personal level before bonding in a professional way on the ice when the World Junior Hockey Championships start on December 26th.
Alongside the 35 hopefuls for the team was a number of major officials who also took part in several innovative team building events including a simulated parachute jump, in which coach Pat Quinn and Hockey Canada president Bob Nicholson also got involved with.
In another example of a different and fresh approach to a team building exercise, the players staged an assault on a mock village in the middle of the night, with each teammate issued night vision goggles.
If Team Canada is to win the gold medal at the upcoming competition, it will make it the fifth straight top honour for the country.
