Employers need to appreciate the hard work of their employees if morale and loyalty are to remain strong within the workplace, according to a leading British institution.
According to Mike Petrook, the public affairs manager at the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), company bosses must realise that the current economic outlook has made an impact on the lives of most people in one way or another, and as a result they should be aware of the stress on workers.
He continued: "It's vital to say that 'we understand the pressure you are under and we appreciate the work that you are putting in'. It's also a good way to channel energy for the year ahead."
A good way to keep motivation up in the immediate future is through a team bonding event, it was added.
The CMI is the only organisation in the country that is dedicated to the development and support of those involved with company management and leadership.
