Businesses wanting to ensure employee motivation is maintained over the festive period need to kick-start their Christmas communications strategy now, it has been claimed.
According to Andy Philpott, marketing director at Edenred, employee motivation in the run-up to Christmas will set the tone for engagement in the coming year.
Mr Philpott claimed that there were a number of ways of boosting staff morale - including implementing a reward and recognition programme.
"Organisations that plan and start Christmas rewards, gifts and communications early achieve the best results," he said.
Mr Philpott added: "When it comes to motivating employees, a one-size fits all approach will not work. Just as every employee is different, a motivation scheme must offer a range of different options so it can be tailored to suit."
Recently, HR magazine claimed that businesses need to address any motivation problems before staff break up for the festive season or they will end up having to tackle them in the new year.
