A specialist has given a top tip or two in preparation for Christmas bonus-giving, for businesses looking to hook up with corporate events management as a means of improving their offerings to staff this winter season.
Mark S Repkin, an expert in employee motivation, incentives and recognition at the Certif-A-Gift Company, said that one of the worst things a business can do is fall short and misspend their money on one-size-fits-all programmes.
He continued: "When it comes to holiday gift giving, companies would do better to align rewards with each employee's unique set of preferences and tastes.
"By giving their employees the power of choice, managers can maximise individual and company-wide performance."
Either way, he said one of the biggest mistakes an employer can make is to offer nothing whatsoever, as this will have a lot of negative impact on a working environment.
It follows research by Aon which discovered that businesses are starting to up the number of incentives and recognition schemes they offer despite the current economic climate.
