Bluewater reveals new event space plans
Team building corporate events could be becoming a regular fixture in Kent after Bluewater revealed its intentions to create hundreds of jobs with a new event space.
New plans to create a £60 million event venue at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent have been unveiled, with the announcement also noting that hundreds of jobs could be created by the new facility.
In news that will be of great interest to corporate events management in the region and across the UK, the retail area will construct a 5,200 sq m building which will host leisure and retail exhibitions and shows, with construction expected to begin in the spring.
The centre's general manager Andrew Parkinson said: "It is the perfect complement to our existing offer and will create additional reasons to visit Bluewater for both existing and new guests, and become a focal point for leisure and entertainment in the UK."
Dartford Borough Council representative Jeremy Kite said that the region will be boosted by the news and that the area will also be demonstrating its international capabilities to delegates from around the world.
The average shopper at Bluewater walks 2.25 miles per visit and the centre itself attracts around 27 million visitors a year.
