Over half of employees are working from home on a more regular basis compared to before the credit crunch, in what one company is seeing as a motivational move as well as a money-saving one.
In time for National Work From Home Day, BT Business revealed that money is being used more cleverly by both workers and their managers, who are allowing their team to work from home and save costs usually spent on commuting at the same time.
Commenting on the study, managing director of BT Business Bill Murphy said: "Anything employers can do to help their staff save money in the current climate is not only great for morale but can also have a big impact on performance."
He added that BT is seeing many more businesses offering staff the opportunity to work at home and this approach is proving to aid both employers and their employees.
This week is Work Wise Week 2009, with the organisation holding National Work from Home Day on Friday May 15th.
