There will be plenty of festive cheer and high employee motivation at Asda this year, as workers are rewarded with a £16 million bonus.
To thank staff for their hard work throughout 2010, they will be rewarded with a Christmas Thank You package.
The gift includes £20 to spend in Asda stores, a festive meal and 20 per cent discount on Asda products.
Chet Kuchinad, executive people director of Asda, said: "The Christmas Thank You rewards and recognises the exceptional level of service that our colleagues provide our customers throughout the year.
"We are really proud of the hard work and the difference that each of our colleagues make, particularly in the run up to our busiest time of year."
The Christmas bonus ends a profitable 2010 for Asda employees, as earlier in the year staff with shares benefited from a £47 million shares payout from parent company Wal-Mart – which worked out at a 90 per cent increase on the amount they had saved.
This gave investment-savvy employees a maximum return of £941.
