As part of National Stress Awareness Day today (November 4th), a leading organisation has highlighted how many businesses are harnessing team building corporate events to their advantage.
The Aon Corporation commented on how the promotion of wellness and productivity across the working environment of the UK can aid staff and help them return to work quicker, cutting healthcare costs along the way.
Consultant for Aon Consulting and occupational health specialist Charlotte Bray said the organisation is starting to see companies taking a more proactive and self-helping approach to manage stress by using team building conferences for counselling and lifestyle advice to combat such issues.
She continued: "More training and workshops for managers means they can learn to identify stress at the early stages which can prevent conditions becoming chronic and are less likely to require drastic measures such as long term psychological or psychiatric help."
The event has been pioneered by the International Stress Management Association and has been supported by the government-led Health & Safety Executive.
