Plans have been unveiled to transform one side of the River Thames in London by building a £250 million six-star hotel, which may be the corporate event space of the future.
Providing the design is accepted by London planners, the huge structure, which is predominantly made of provocative glasswork, will replace an existing corporate hospitality event space at Puddledock in Blackfriars and could be a firm favourite with events organisers.
A double-height ballroom for 400 people will be one of the development's many features, alongside several bars, restaurants and a rooftop terrace which looks out over the city and one of the UK's most famous rivers.
Commenting on the development, a spokesperson for the project at Heatherfield said: "The scheme will create a landmark stand-alone building that is intended to rejuvenate one of the few remaining major development sites in the City."
Earlier this month, it was announced that the world-famous Metropole hotel in London was to get a makeover and come under the Corinthia brand in a £135 million revamp.
